Surinder was born in India but has been a stalwart of the British poker scene for many years now, excelling at both tournaments and cash games. He is perhaps best known for his victory at the WPT Paris event in 2004 when not only did he have to defeat a very strong field en route to victory, but also had to endure endless goading from Tony G at the final table. The trash talking that had successfully thrown others off their game had met its match in Sunar though and Guoga found it impossible to penetrate Sunar’s calmness and steely determination.
Countless tournament victories down the years have so far not included an elusive WSOP title despite eleven final tables in bracelet events as of 2008. It might indeed never come as Surinder has said that he can see himself retiring from poker in a few years, but whilst he remains active he is still one of the most feared and respected players in the game.
