Born June 1980 in Texas, David, like a few other top poker players, began his card career through Magic: The Gathering. Suspended from the pro-tour for a year, he turned his focus to poker instead.

Through Noah Boeken, a fellow Magic player, he was introduced to Marcel Luske, who helped him to learn how to play poker at the highest levels.

2nd to Greg Raymer in the 2004 WSOP Main Event, and picking up a bracelet in Stud in 2006, David has had great success on the WPT circuit too. His latest WPT result, which will be hard to top, saw him winning the 2010 WPT Championship Event and over over $1.5M at the Bellagio.
